MotherStyles

Last night, I went out with my sister and two dear friends. One topic that came up was the Myers-Brigg personality types. I told them about a book I read called MotherStyles: Using Personality Type to Discover Your Parenting Strengths. I've read a fair amount on personality types, especially since Myers-Briggs was popular in my college group. But this book pointed out something new (to me): women Thinkers are very different from men Thinkers and sometimes mistakenly consider themselves to be Feelers, rather than Thinkers because most Myers-Briggs Thinker descriptions are based on men (apparently, Thinking men are rather stoic and have few emotions, while Thinking women still have emotions so may mistake themselves to be Feelers). After reading the book, I realized that I am a Thinker, not a Feeler even though I typically test as an ENFJ (come on, what woman wants to say that she doesn't sympathize with others? or isn't affected by their emotions?) Anyways, check out the book if you're interested!
